  • 2023 Native American Natural Resource Research Scholarship

    The 2023 deadline has passed. Please check back in the fall for the 2024 deadline. ITC in partnership with the USDA Forest Service Research and Development is pleased to announce scholarship opportunities for Native American graduate students who are planning or currently conducting tribally relevant research in a natural resource issue.

  • TREES provides coordination and management of Pathways internships and professional development opportunities for Native American students for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in both forestry and wildland fire participation. This partnership allows Native American students to get real world training, federal experience, as well as $5,000 in annual tuition assistance. Visit their website for more information.

COOPERATIVE FINANCIAL AID SCHOLARSHIP AGREEMENTS

INTERNSHIPS AND FELLOWSHIPS

  • Applications are being accepted from highly motivated and enthusiastic potential M.S. students starting in Spring or Summer 2025. The research project is with the Southern Pine Health Research Cooperative (https://southernpinehealth.org) at the Warnell School in Athens, GA. The M.S. research will focus on Nantucket pine tip moth integrated pest management in southern pine forests with a focus on insecticide use and non-target environmental assessments. Extensive fieldwork in Georgia and lab work will be required. The candidate will be stationed on the Athens Campus for classes and the Tifton Campus for fieldwork.

  • The Center for Native Peoples and the Environment is recruiting students for graduate study in diverse environmental science fields, including ecology, sustainability, conservation biology, restoration, environmental engineering, and more. Through support from the Sloan Indigenous Graduate Partnership, the program provides funding for full tuition, stipends, and professional development to Native American students pursuing MS, MPS, and PhD degrees.
